Child & Maternal Health Specialist
Sara Cook, RDN, LDN, CLC is a nutrition and breastfeeding expert specializing in maternal, infant, and child health. Sara is passionate about supporting the health and well-being of children and new and expecting mothers. She believes that proper nutrition in pregnancy and the first few years of life set a child up for optimal health into adulthood. Sara assists busy mamas and families with child, pregnancy, and postpartum nutrition services including lactation counseling. She can help with infant and child feeding practices, healthy eating during pregnancy, and lactation troubles.
Sara has been guiding families through healthy eating challenges for over five years through her previous clinical experience with the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. She is a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and has offered lactation support to hundreds of new mothers. Sara has completed advanced lactation training and has directly helped families overcome lactation struggles and enjoy a more positive nursing experience with their baby. Sara plans to pursue the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification in order to help even more families.
Sara graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and a minor in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. Sara completed the Sodexo Dietetic Internship and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Outside of working as a dietitian, Sara loves cooking, spending time with friends and family, and being a loving dog mom. She lives in Chicago with her fiancé and new puppy, Nova.
