Ingredients:


1/2 Large Head Green Cabbage
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Large Onion, Diced
2 Cloves Garlic
2 cups Crushed Tomatoes
1 Tbsp Sugar
1 Tbsp Cider Vinegar
3/4 cup Long Grain White Rice
1/2 lb Ground Turkey or Beef (Lean Meat)
1 Large Egg, Lightly Beaten


Directions:


  1. Cook cabbage in boiling pot of water for 15-20 minutes. Drain and separate cabbage leaves with tongs.
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In medium saucepan over medium heat cook onions until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic, tomatoes, sugar, and vinegar to saucepan. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer mixture for 10 minutes.
  4. In a bowl combine onion mixture, cooked rice, ground beef and egg. Season with salt and pepper. Mix together.
  5. Place a portion of beef in center of each large cabbage leaf. Fold slices up tightly. Transfer cabbage roll into baking dish, cover dish with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and serve.
