Meet Meg

Pediatric Heart Specialist

Meg Davis, RD, LDN is a registered dietitian with a passion for improving the quality of nutrition and life for children with complex nutritional needs.

Meg earned her Bachelors of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed her dietetic internship with the University of Chicago Medicine – Ingalls Memorial Hospital.

Meg started her career at Advocate Children’s Hospital where she cared for patients with complex medical issues in the intensive care unit and cardiac intensive care unit, in addition to the pediatric high-risk and advanced heart failure clinics.  While working with these complex medical cases, Meg realized her passion for not only optimizing the nourishment but also optimizing these children’s quality of life.  She shifted her focus and started working with families and the multidisciplinary care team to safely wean children from their feeding tubes.  Meg then used her knowledge and experience to educate children’s hospitals around the country on strategies to wean complex cardiac children with the National Pediatric Cardiology Quality Improvement Collaborative.

Meg helps clients turn stressful feeding experiences into enjoyable and nourishing eating memories.  Meg believes that eating is an emotional experience requiring love and nurturing, and every family, despite their physical limitations, should get the opportunity to experience this together.

Meg was born and raised in Chicago and enjoys spending free time with her family, cooking, exercising, and traveling.
