Five FEED-Approved Thanksgiving Recipes
Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to enjoy food with friends and family. This year, as you gather around the table, take FEED with you! We’ve rounded up some of our favorite Thanksgiving recipes to share with loved ones this time of year. From appetizers to main dish alternatives, FEED’s got you covered when it comes to healthfully enjoying the holiday season:
Roasted pumpkin seeds are great to have on hand for guests before you gather ‘round the table. They are an excellent source of healthy fats and minerals such as zinc, which aids the immune system – especially important this time of year! Pumpkin seeds are also great to share with those who have dietary restrictions – this recipe is vegan, gluten free and low in FODMAPs.
Our Hidden Veggie meatballs are a great appetizer for Thanksgiving dinner or any other holiday party. Packed with protein and veggies, they are more satisfying than your ordinary app!
Mix it up with our mashed cauliflower – an alternative to the same old mashed potatoes served every year. Despite its lack of color, cauliflower is packed with nutrients. A one-cup serving is high in vitamin C and has 2.5 grams of fiber.
Our two-ingredient butternut squash soup is another great addition to the Thanksgiving stand-bys. One serving contains 690% of the daily recommended amount of vitamin A. Vitamin A is important for eye health as well as immune system and organ function.
Try our blackberry arugula salad – sure to perk up any holiday table with its bright and refreshing flavors! Fresh arugula is known for its peppery flavor and has vitamins A and K as well as folate, which is important for our moms-to-be!
For those who aren’t making a whole turkey, our turkey and mushroom meatloaf is a great way to still get in some turkey time. By substituting half the meat with mushrooms, we up the flavor and increase the amount of vitamin D, which is especially important during winter months.
